During the past several weeks, the American public has been
inundated by the news media which has focused much of their attention on those
supporting illegal immigration and sanctuary cities. Recently, the Hartford Courant carried
a headlined article captioned Malloy Tells Local Leaders They Dont Have To Enforce Federal Immigration Laws.
Yet, Immigration was very much a catalyst which brought
voters in the U. S. and Europe to the polls in 2016. The majority cast their
votes for those candidates and/or issues supporting the enforcement of laws
governing immigration.
In 2016, as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were battling
it out on U.S. soil prior to the November 9, 2016 U. S. Presidential election,
a similar battle was being fought on European soil which culminated in a June
22, 2016 election. The results of both elections were not as initially
predicted. First, in the U.S.,
initially perceived underdog Donald Trump who had denounced illegal immigration
was elected President on November 9, 2016.
This followed a June 23, 2016 vote in the UK to determine
whether the electors wanted to stay or leave the European Union (EU), described as Brexit, British Exit. Like the U.
S. months later in November, 2016, UK voter sentiment shocked the
press and investors. On June 23, 2016 the New York Times reported Britain Votes to Leave E.U.; Cameron Plans to Step Down - The
New York.
Following both elections, on November
11, 2016, headlines read
Therein, John Curtice a Professor
of politics at Strathclyde
University wrote when
describing the Trump and Brexit vote
Both majored on
concerns about immigration. Both
questioned whether the existing global financial order necessarily benefitted
the ordinary man in the street. And both portrayed themselves as the underdogs
campaigning against an allegedly complacent and out of touch political
establishment.Continue reading at US election 2016: The Trump-Brexit voter revolt - BBC News - BBC.com
Those in Germany
were also dealing with the immigration issue. Within the headlined December 20,
2016 article captioned Anger over Merkel
putting Germany in a state of war | World | News, the reporter wrote
Critics at home and abroad rounded on the Chancellor after
12 people died in Mondays Berlin Christmas market attack.
They accused her of putting her own people at risk by
allowing in almost a million migrants during the Syrian refugee
crisis. We owe it to the victims, to those affected and to the whole
population to rethink our immigration and security policy and to change
it. It was she who let migrants enter Germany
and the whole of Europe in uncontrolled waves,
without papers, therefore without knowing who they really are. Continue reading

Today, it is being reported that Almost
half of Canadians want illegal border crossers deported - Reuters.
The following are excerpts from the article as reported by Rod
Nickel and David Ljunggren of
WINNIPEG, Manitoba/OTTAWA
Canadians appeared to be just as concerned
about illegal immigration as their American neighbors, according to the poll,
which was conducted between March 8-9. Some 48 percent
of Canadians said they supported increasing the deportation of people living in
Canada
illegally. (For graphics on asylum process, immigration poll see tmsnrt.rs/2nyY8CJ)
When asked specifically about the recent border crossings
from the United States, the
same number- 48 percent-said Canada
should send these migrants back to the U.S. Another 36 percent said Canada
should accept these migrants and let them seek refugee
status.
In the United
States, where President Donald Trump was elected partly
on his promise to boost deportations, 50 percent of adults supported increasing
the deportation of illegal immigrants, according to a separate Reuters/Ipsos
poll that was conducted during the same week in the United States. Read the entire

Alfonso Chardy of the Miami

At least 121 killings within a four-year span were carried
out by convicted immigrants who were not deported, according to a 2015 U.S.
Senate Judiciary Committee document recently reviewed by el Nuevo Herald.
Every year, federal immigration authorities release foreign
nationals convicted of crimes-including murder-both because the U.S. Supreme
Court has prohibited indefinite detention or because their countries refuse to
take them back even after immigration judges have ordered deportation.

While we are a nation of immigrants we are also a nation of
laws. Without laws we are not a nation at all. For too long some politicians on
the local, state and federal levels have chosen to comply with immigration laws
they like and ignore the laws they disagree with. This selective enforcement
has left us vulnerable as our borders are unprotected and our communities are
at risk for violent crime. Continue reading this article at Bill Posey: Immigration reform begins with enforcing our

Although Donald Trump has been the subject
of much criticism as it pertains to Deportation
IT WAS FORMER PRESIDENT BARRACK OBAMA
WHO WAS LABELED
DEPORTER IN CHIEF
In the June
7, 2013 Huffington Post article captioned Obama Faces Protests In California Over Deportations | The
Huffington Post it was noted Its not the first
time Obamas faced protests from immigrant advocates
over his deportation record. If deportations continue at the current
rate, Obama will top 2 million by 2014 more than all deportations
prior to 1997 combined. Continue reading at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/07/obama-protestes-california_n_3405144.html
On Feb 8, 2014, The Economists, in their article captioned Immigration: Barack Obama, deporter-in-chief | The Economist noted America is expelling illegal immigrants at
nine times the rate of 20 years ago; nearly 2 million so far under Barack
Obama, easily outpacing any previous president. Border
patrol agents no longer just patrol the border; they scour the country for illegals
to eject. Continue

Trumps Revised Immigration
Plans, eliminates one significant Obama immigration policy, termed catch and
release.
Under Catch and Release, many undocumented immigrants living
in the US
were allowed to remain if caught but had no criminal record. Now with the
elimination of Catch and Release, and the enactment of the following policies
by Trump which were signed by Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, a greater
emphasis will be placed on enforcement while maintaining the countrys immigration laws.
According to the New
York Post, on February 21, 2017, the following
policies include
Immediately begin planning and building a
border wall between the US
and Mexico
a key Trump campaign promise.
The hiring of 5,000 more Border Patrol agents
and 10,000 extra Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
Local cops and sheriffs deputies would be
recruited on a voluntary basis to help with deportations under a program that
was scaled back under Obama.
Increasing jail space in anticipation of more
captures.
The post also notes The message from this White House and
the DHS is that those people who are in this country and pose a threat to our
public safety or have committed a crime will be the first to go and we will be
aggressively making sure that that occurs, Spicer said at a White House press
briefing. Continue reading at

But some will not participate in Trumps deportation plan to
include the NYPD according to their representative. And that philosophy has been
adopted by others to include those in Connecticut
as towns, colleges, churches define themselves as
sanctuaries for the undocumented regardless of Trumps threat to withhold
federal money from those who do not comply.
But today we have learned that many in the US do not support
the sanctuary city concept as zerohedge reveals that a New Poll Finds That 80% Of Americans Oppose Sanctuary Cities. According to Tyler Durden A stunning new poll conducted by
Harvard-Harris, exclusively for The Hill, found that the overwhelming majority of
Americans, 80% in fact, believe that illegal immigrants arrested for crimes
should be turned over to federal immigration authorities rather than being
harbored in so-called sanctuary cities. Imagine that, Americans believe
that local, state and federal law enforcement officials should actually enforce
the law...shocking. Meanwhile, 52% of those surveyed said they support Trumps
executive order to build a border wall and revoke funding for sanctuary cities
while 53% said they support his immigration ban that was recently overturned by
the 9th Circuit court.
And US taxpayers are paying a significant amount of money to
fund sanctuary cities as noted within a Forbes article captioned Mapping $27 Billion In Federal Funding Of Americas Sanctuary
Cities. Continue reading at http://www.forbes.com/sites/adamandrzejewski/2017/02/02/mapping-27-billion-in-federal-funding-of-americas-sanctuary-cities/
